Castle Hill Kick in G minor and B-flat Major from Wunderkeys Intermediate Pop 2 Performance Book includes large 2 octave left-hand leaps.
Practice Tips
- Practice the right hand first by blocking the chord shapes on the first page until they are automatic.
- Use peripheral vision or quickly glance at left-hand target keys before leaping to them for the large 2 octave leaps.
- Allow the pedal to sustain the notes and release left-hand notes sooner than their full duration so you can keep the forward progression of the music without pausing to hit the large leaps.
- Look ahead in your music as you play repeated patterns to anticipate the shifts.
