Beethoven's Wig: Learning about Musical Motives
A motive or (motif) is a short rhythm or melody passage that is repeated in various parts of a composition.
Listen for the motive in this music video.
1. Is it a rhythmic or melodic motive?
2. Come up with some new words that you could sing during the motive.

Oh Heidi! I LOVE the Beethoven's Wig Series! At our Christmas Concert one of the kids played Beethoven's 5th and another kid wore a huge white wig we found at Party City to introduce the piece. It was a riot! Thanks for posting that first video. I'd never seen that one before. Adding it to my playlist right now.
