Improvisation
The Pastoral Symphony includes many broken chord patterns. Listen to this Create First Ocean without a Shore improvisation, which is also created mainly with broken chords. Then improvise your own Ocean piece using the same chord patterns, breaking them up in any order.
Possible Variations- Invert the chords (as in the pastoral symphony intro) and play bottom, middle, top
- Play piggyback chords as you cascade your hands up or down the keyboard, repeating some patterns with each hand.
- Borrow some of the rhythm patterns in pastoral to include in your improvisation or create your own rhythms to convey different moods.
