Listen to Famous People as you do “Rhythm Aerobics.” Stomp the steady beat with your feet as you clap the rhythm with your hands.
Theory
Choose an activity below to practice eighth-note rhythms.
Eighth Note Rhythm Videos
Count, Tap Clap, or Stamp along with each rhythm sample in the videos.
Remember to count aloud using the smallest note pattern found in each example.
Quarters: 1,2,3,4
Eighths: 1 & 2 &, etc.
Quarters: 1,2,3,4

Click the link to practice rhythm dictation. You can adjust the difficulty by choosing from different types of notes (quarter, half, whole, eighth).
Identify the rhythms you hear and move them to the correct box to complete the puzzle.
Click the rhythm pattern that you hear. It may help to echo the rhythm bug language that you hear (quarter=bug, 2eighths=beetle).
Improvisation
Watch Create First Dragon Festival Duet and Solo and then create a song that has short-short-long (beetle bug) patterns or long- short-short (bug beetle) in the right hand.
